Jamal Abu-Shamala started JAS Elite Training in order to train players the right way while providing mentorship throughout the process. Whether a beginner or a more advanced player, you will see great strides in your game after receiving the proper instruction around skill development.
About Jamal Abu-Shamala
Jamal Abu-Shamala is from Shakopee, MN. During his senior year of high school, his team capped off a 31-1 season and won the 2005 State Championship. After high school, Jamal walked-on at the University of Minnesota to play for the Gophers. During his Freshman season as a walk-on, Jamal earned immediate playing time, became a staple in the rotation and was fortunate enough to earn a scholarship his first year on campus. Jamal played all four years for the Gophers, graduated with a business degree and ended his career 5th in 3-point field goal percentage and top five in games played.
After college, Jamal played 3 years professionally overseas with stints in Jordan, Mexico, the NBA Development League and International competition with the Palestinian National Team. Jamal continues to compete in National Team competitions periodically throughout the year. In 2015, Jamal helped lead the Palestinian National Team to the Asian Championship for an opportunity to qualify for the 2016 Olympics for the first time in history.
Jamal currently resides in Golden Valley. He is the Director of Player Development at Blake High School.
